"The first time I saw The Strumbellas was at a house party at Dupont and Spadina, so to have also seen them on the stage of a giant festival was a special experience for me. That is, it is an immensely inspiring experience when you get to see a band you love find mainstream success. The Strumbellas' music is simple and catchy, but gorgeous and soulful. Their songs are fun, orchestral Folk Rock and they also employ a huge number of gang vocals and chants. Their live show creates a very interactive community experience for the audience. The Strumbellas have come a long way from playing their residency at the Dakota."
