"In 2007, I wanted to go to Bonnaroo, but it was expensive…So…I had a friend who ran a small music magazine apply for a media pass and somehow I was given a VIP all access pass. On the first night I saw the National for the first time. Their performance resonated with me. This band and their frontman Matt Berninger were poetic, dramatic, charismatic, beautiful and tragic, and I was completely taken away. Though I have seen them 6 times since, I have yet to photograph them again."
