Steven Severin

Steven Severin formed Siouxsie and the Banshees in 1976 with Siouxsie Sioux. Severin was featured on all 16 albums and 30 singles as co-lyricist and songwriter during their 20 year career. During their reign, Siouxsie and the Banshees established themselves as one of the foremost alternative artists and the only survivors of the London punk scene to evolve and innovate until their mid 90s break up. Since then Severin has been working on various solo projects and collaborations as well as continuing to produce artists. In 2003 Steven redefined his direction. He was asked to provide the entire film soundtrack to a British independent supernatural thriller, London Voodoo. As a result he now concentrates exclusively on writing music for film and TV. As part of the so-called “Bromley Contingent”, Steven was one of the first to discover the Sex Pistols. Already a patron of the King’s Road shop, SEX that spawned them, Steven was there on the front line, with his camera. As the Banshees grew beyond their “punk” genesis taking their sound across the globe, recruiting and jettisoning the likes of luminaries such as Robert (The Cure) & John (Magazine) McGeoch, Steven was again there documenting the evolution.
