"I've had the privilege to photograph Tom Petty's last two shows in Toronto, and as a huge fan, I had attended his last 7 tours that have come through town. 2017 marked the 40th anniversary of The Heartbreakers and the band hit the road for a victory lap. This photo was taken as The Heartbreakers took the stage, before a single note was played. Tom strapped on his guitar and just stood back from the mic, grinning; taking in all of the love, looking genuinely overwhelmed, grateful, and happy. Sadly, it would be Tom Petty's last performance in Toronto as the musician passed away only three months later in Los Angeles."
