Sarah McLachlan

Photographer: Kevin LeDuc

Location: State Theatre, Portland, Maine

Date: 1994

"This photograph demonstrates Sarah’s “magnetic field”. The way her hands come up to her heart, the slight tilting of her head, and her emotional glassy eyes relate a deep, personal, and spiritual story. The State Theatre, with its grand nineteenth century murals and four inch thick plaster walls, made a magnetic voice soundstage for performing artists. For a photographer on the other hand, it was a light eating Leviathan."
