"Having forged out on his own after the break-up of Oasis, Noel Gallagher has proven himself to be not only a formidable songwriter but a powerful frontman. As a lifelong fan of Noel Gallagher’s music, I made sure I was in attendance when Noel played Echo Beach in Toronto back in 2016. Despite the many song styles present on Noel’s solo work, his power ballads always emotionally hit me the hardest as a music fan. For example, ‘Slide Away’, ‘Champagne Supernova’, ‘If I Had a Gun’ & ‘The Dying of the Light’ are some of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear in your lifetime. For example, lyrics from the song ‘Slide Away’ are engraved in my husband’s wedding ring. That’s how deep this music will hit you. I remember the moment this photograph was taken. The light during this song from above was almost heavenly. I was present at this moment both as a 20+ year fan of Noel Gallagher’s music and as a photographer, which culminated into the creation of this image, which I really love. The photograph’s title ‘Shoot a Hole Into The Sun’ simply felt right, as it represented not only one of Noel’s most heartfelt lyrics from ‘If I Had A Gun’ but it also visually fit this photograph so perfectly."
