“Being at the right place at the right moment sprinkled in with a bit of luck is what creates a magical image. The night of the Metallica show, the grounds of Parc Jean-Drapeau were at capacity with over 40,000 people. The photographers were all huddled in the VIP section, overlooking the entire crowd. We all had our lenses pointed at the stage and we all saw the shadow being case behind Kirk Hammett, but simply by luck of the draw, the angle I was privy to was the right one to catch the shadow emerging above him.”
