"Bjork entered the hotel suite almost wordlessly and headed for the corner where I’d set up my makeshift studio. She used the chair I’d dragged next to the window like a perch and a limb, clambering over it like a little forest animal, noticing the camera after each click of the shutter like she’d just discovered it, or burrowing into the chair as if trying to hide. It was very much a performance, and I cycled through three rolls of film in my Rolleiflex trying to capture it all without giving a word of direction."
