As soon as Alex Ebert left the stage he was moving everywhere. I knew I had to pick a spot and stick to it because this was going to get crazy and I wouldn't be able to see anything because of my height. My only vantage was the middle of the pit, standing on the barrier to get higher and catch a different angle. In a wave, all the photographers in the pit, flocked behind him as he moved. Luck was on my side and he moved directly toward me. Suddenly there was no separation between the pit, the audience and the performer. This magical place of chaos and raw energy united us for a single moment in time.
