"Bob Marley performed in Toronto four times before this concert at Maple Leaf Gardens. Marley was touring on the 'Kaya' album, and this was his biggest Toronto audience yet. I had never seen or photographed him before. Marley didn't need to warm up. He started in high gear the moment he came on stage. I quickly shot several rolls of black and white film within my time limit of 3 songs before having to leave the front of the stage. I photographed Eric Clapton precisely two months earlier, on the same stage, as he performed 'I Shot The Sheriff', one of Marley's most recognizable songs."
