"During a break in rehearsals I asked Jimi if I could take a few pictures, he said "sure", so we set off to find a location, which proved somewhat difficult. I needed some daylight to shoot with and the studio was windowless. Eventually we found one small window in a stairwell but so many people were using it that it was difficult to overcome people pushing past Jimi and a passer by nearly hit his guitar. I think we had a brief period of maybe two minutes when all was clear and I managed to get half a roll of film shot. Jimi was good humored and then we spent some time finding our way back to the studio so he could continue the show. The pictures may have been slightly underexposed as the light was poor but the subject was rich in detail and brilliance; that was Jimi!"
