"This was the only time I photographed The Grateful Dead. The band had a good history with Toronto. I remember they gave a free concert in front of City Hall with the Jefferson Airplane in the summer of 1967 before both bands played a six day run at the O’Keefe Centre. Three years later they returned to headline a multi-band concert called the Trans Continental Pop Festival that traveled across Canada to include Winnipeg and Calgary. The documentary made during that tour was released in 2004 as the film, ‘Festival Express’."
